About Us

Background

Noon Academy Islamic School and Educational Center has been offering quality educational, community, and religious services to Brampton and its surrounding areas for over a decade. Its well known and highly demanded services are well respected within the Muslim community largely because of its leader and founder, Shaykh Waleed Almakee.

Shaykh Waleed received his degree in the Principals of Islamic Shari`ah (Law) and Qur`an at Al-Balqaa University in Amman, Jordan. Aside from his academic credentials, Shaykh Waleed has studied under and received `Ijazah (Islamic certification) from many top scholars of today, including Shaykh Muhammad bin `Alawy Almaliky, renowned scholar in the Holy City of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Since beginning his career, Shaykh Waleed has taken part in many enriching and diverse religious education programs; including research projects, program development, outreach and Islamic dawah.

His unique approach makes him a ‘man of all ages;’ adults find his moderate and balanced approach appealing, while children and youth find his down-to-earth teaching style relatable and approachable.

Shaykh Waleed and Daniyah Flynn founded Noon Academy to help fill a void that they noticed within the Muslim community in Brampton. It was clear there was a disconnect between families (children, youth and adults) and Islam; with many wanting to get more involved with their religion but hesitant due to of past experiences of out-dated and disengaging approaches they or their family members experienced. So, Shaykh Waleed and Sister Daniyah established a unique way of teaching religious studies using modern teaching strategies, focusing on the individualized learning approach, tied in with character and life skills development. Islamic Studies became more

Noon Academy is located in a quiet nook of a well-developed central area of Brampton. Our school provides a welcoming and caring environment, where our whole school community feels accepted, valued and loved. Our low teacher to student ratio enables our teachers to connect more with their students and their families, which adds to the welcoming, home-like, atmosphere.  We currently have 7 technically advanced classrooms filled with innovative teaching and learning equipment, manipulatives and materials.

Vision

At Noon Academy, we strive to be the best we can be in our approach to teaching and leading our students. We aim to achieve the highest standards in school spirit, academic achievement and personal development. Our success is obtained through our students’ well-being, growth and personal success.

Goals

Noon Academy’s main goal is to teach our students the skills and habits they need to become the ‘Best They Can Be.’ We aim to achieve our goal by:

Supporting our students in their learning by learning about them (their strengths, needs, likes, dislikes etc..); and, providing them with the tools needed to be proactive members of their society, critical thinkers and life learners so that they will have the confidence they need to succeed with their own ambitions while being conscious of the needs of the world around them.

The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.”
